Live Concert At The Forum

Barbra Streisand Live Concert At The Forum Lyrics
1.Sing / Make Your Own Kind Of Music

Sing, sing a song
Sing out loud; sing out strong
Sing of good things not bad
Sing of happy not sad
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear
Just sing, sing a song
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la...
Nobody can tell you
There's only one song worth singing
They may try and sell ya
Cause it hangs 'em up
To see someone like you
You've gotta make your own kind of music
Sing your own special song
Make your own kind of music
Even if nobody else sings along
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la...
Sing, sing a song
(Sing a song)
Sing out loud (sing out loud)
Sing out strong (sing out strong)
Sing of good things not bad!
Sing of happy, not sad
Sing, sing a song
Make it simple to last your whole life long
Don't worry that it's not good enough
For anyone else to hear
You just sing
Sing
Just sing
Even if nobody else sings along
You just sing
You just sing
Sing your song!
La, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la...

2.Starting Here, Starting Now

Starting here, Starting now
When we walk, we walk together
Year by year, starting here
Starting now
When we talk
We wiII say the most with silence
When we're near
Starting here
Now when you sleep
You will dream a dream
That's free from care
For now when you wake
I'll be there so be still
Take my hand
For the greatest journey
Heaven can allow
Starting love
Starting here
Starting now
Now take my hand
For the greatest journey
Heaven can allow
Starting love
Starting here
Starting now...

3.Don't Rain On My Parade

At the end of the Baltimore run, Fanny's train is leaving to go
on to to Chicago,
while Nick must catch the train for New York and then head to
Europe. Nick tells
Fanny he loves her and she suggests he marry her, but he wants
to have a fortune
before he does. On the spur of the moment, Fanny decides to
leave the tour and
follow Nick to New York. Eddie who has arrived to visit tries to
talk her out
of it. Ziegfeld tries as well, but Fanny is intent on following
Nick; she has
success in show business and now she wants a personal life as
well. Eddie tries
to advise her one more time, 'Don't', and she replies:

Don't tell me not to live,
Just sit and putter,
Life's candy and the sun's
A ball of butter.
Don't bring around a cloud
To rain on my parade.
Don't tell me not to fly--
I've simply got to.
If someone takes a spill,
It's me and not you.
Who told you you're allowed
To rain on my parade!
I'll march my band out,
I'll beat my drum,
And if I'm fanned out,
Your turn at bat, sir.
At least I didn't fake it.
Hat, sir, I guess I didn't make it!
But whether I'm the rose
Of sheer perfection,
Or freckle on the nose
Of life's complexion,
The cinder or the shiny apple of its eye,
I gotta fly once,
I gotta try once,
Only can die once, right, sir?
Ooh, love is juicy,
Juicy, and you see
I gotta have my bite, sir!
Get ready for me, love,
'Cause I'm a 'comer,'
I simply gotta march,
My heart's a drummer.
Don't bring around a cloud
To rain on my parade!

I'm gonna live and live now,
Get what I want--I know how,
One roll for the whole shebang,
One throw, that bell will go clang,
Eye on the target--and wham--
One shot, one gun shot, and bam--
Hey, Mister Arnstein, here I am!
I'll march my band out,
I will beat my drum,
And if I'm fanned out,
Your turn at bat, sir,
At least I didn't fake it.
Hat, sir, I guess I didn't make it.
Get ready for me, love,
'Cause I'm a 'comer,'
I simply gotta march,
My heart's a drummer.
Nobody, no, nobody
Is gonna rain on my parade!

4.Monologue

Thank you!
You know this is, I haven't done a concert, in about six years.
And
it's oh thank you... But it's very exciting I
must say, but it's also terribly, terribly
scary... ooh, God I wish I was back on the set!
Mmm, I gotta tell you this funny thing. But it's
not so funny. But talking about being scared
I was even more scared till I spoke to friends
of mine also performers, you know...and they
were telling me that they also... uh ...[drinks
tea]tastes much better that way! The Japanese
said so! Anyway... They told me that in order
to conquer their fears, you know, they ... eh
well, some of them drink; but I really hate
the taste of liquors, so I...you know, I can't
do that... And some of them... uh ... take pills;
but I can't even swallow aspirin, so I can't
do that, But... more important than that... I
have found, and I believe, that performers
should be very strong, you know, and... you don't
know what I'm gonna say... your way ahead of me tonight.
It's still illegal? We should face our problems head
on! You know... what I was about to say you see,
I have found that the way I conquer my fear of
a performance is just to... uhm... you know,
talk about it, and you get it out in the open,
and you discuss it with a little...excuse me...
everything... and she's... what a fantastic
accord you just played... What was that of F minor
7th with a demented pinky on the 5th it was really high.

5.On A Clear Day(You Can See Forever)

Could anyone among us have an inkling or a clue
What magic feats or wizardry and voodoo you can do?'
And who would ever guess what powers you possess
And who would not be stunned to see you prove
There's more to us than surgeons can remove
So much more than we ever knew
So much more were we born to do
Should you draw back the curtain, this I am certain
You'll be impressed with you
Well, so long doctor, see you later!

On a clear day
Rise and 1ook around you
And you'll see who you are
On a clear day
How it will astound you
That the glow of your being
Outshines every star
You'll feel part of every mountain sea and shore
You can hear
From far and near
A word you've never, never heard before...
And on a clear day...On a clear day...
You can see forever...
And ever...
And ever...
And ever more. . .

6.Sweet Inspiration / Where You Lead

I need your sweet inspiration
I need you here on my mind
Every hour of the day
Without your sweet inspiration
The lonely hours of the night
Just don't go my way

Wanting you the way I do
I only want to be with you
And I would go to the ends of the earth
'Cause darling, to me that's what you're worth

Where you lead, I will follow
Anywhere you tell me to
If you need, need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

If you're out on the road
Feelin' lonely and oh so cold
All you gotta do is call my name
And I'll be there on the next train

Where you lead I will follow
Anywhere you tell me to
If you need, need me to be with you
I will follow where you lead

I'd always wanted a real home
With flowers on the windowsill
But if you want to leave in New York City
Honey, you know I will
Yes I will
Yes I will

I never thought I could get satisfaction
From just one man
If anyone can keep me happy
Oh, you're the one who can

I'm gonna follow where you lead me
I'm gonna follow where you lead me
I need your sweet inspiration
I need you here on my mind
Every hour of the day
Without your sweet inspiration
The lonely hours of the night
Just don't go my way

Oh, a woman in love needs sweet inspiration
And honey that's all I ask, you know
That's all I ask from you
I gotta have your sweet inspiration
You know there just ain't no tellin'
What a satisfied woman might do

The way you call me baby, baby (such a sweet inspiration)
The way you call me darlin', darlin' (sets my heart a skating)
And if I'm out in the rain, baby (and in a bad situation)
You know I just look back in my mind
And there I find your sweet, sweet inspiration

Inspiration, oh what a power
And a bucket of power every hour of the day
I need your sweet inspiration
To go on livin', to keep on givin' this way
Wanting you the way I do (sweet, sweet)
Only want to be with you (sweet, sweet)
Gonna follow where you lead (sweet, sweet)
Baby you're just what I need
Your sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet inspiration
And honey that's all I ask, you know
That's all I ask from you
I gotta have your sweet inspiration
You know there just ain't no telling
What a satisfied woman can do

You are my sweet inspiration

7.Didn't We

Lyrics:Jimmy Webb
Music:Jimmy Webb

(someone shouting:I love you!)

Still uh? Faithful. Wait... wait.
If I would have known there were so many people
on the two sides here I would have had my nose fixed!
Never! These people are too smart...

**lyrics:

This time we almost made the pieces fit, didn't we?
This time we almost some sense of it, didn't we?
This time I have the answer right here in my hand,
Then I touched it, and it has turned to sand.

This time we almost sang the song in tune, didn't we?
This time we almost made it to the moon, didn't we?
This time, we almost made (almost made) a poem rhyme
And this time we almost made that long hard climb.
Didn't we almost make it this time... this time

8.My Man

Oh my man I love him so
He'll never know
All my life is just despair
But I don't care
When he takes me in his arms
The world is bright, alright,
What's the difference if I say
I'll go away
When I know I'll come back
On my knees someday
Oh whatever my man is
I am his
Forever more
It cost me a lot
But that's one thing that I've got
It's my man
Cold and wet
Tired you bet
But all that I soon forget
With my man
He's not much for looks
And no hero out of books
He's my man
Two or three girls has he
That he likes as well as me
But I love him

Oh my man I love him so
He'll never know
All my life is just despair
But I don't care
When he takes me in his arms
The world is bright, alright,
What's the difference if I say
I'll go away
When I know I'll come back
On my knees someday
Oh whatever my man is
I am his
Forever more

9.Stoney End

Grazie Papa!
Listen, I couldn't decide which song to sing next... So ..
Wait... no, no, no, it's not as free as that, I have
a choice of two, and I'll see... I'll see which one
you like best. Wait... wait... wait a minute, let's do
it fair. It's between 'Stoney End' and 'Second Hand
Rose'. Wait, wait, wait!!!
That's too easy, now we've gotta make a choice! Wait, wait wait!
ya that 'Stoney End' I haven't sung for about two years, and so
I have the words written on the floor. So if you see me looking
on the floor... it's the words! I'll try not to look, but I mean
I
haven't sung it for a long time... okay... ready, get set, go!
Is this ''Stoney End'!
Come on!
I was born from love
And my poor mother worked the mines
I was raised on the Good Book Jesus
Till I read between the lines
Now I don't believe
I want to see the whole morning
Going down the stoney end
I never wanted to go
Down the stoney end
Mama let me start all over
Cradle me, Mama, cradle me again
I can still remember him
With love light in his eyes
But the light flickered out
And parted
As the sun began to rise
Now I don't believe
I want to see the whole morning
Going down the stoney end
I never wanted to go
Down the stoney end
Mama, let me start all over
Cradle me, Mama, cradle me again
Never mind the forecast
Cause the sky has lost control
Cause the fury and the broken thunders
Come to match my ragin' soul
And I want...
I want... I want to see the whole morning
Going down the stoney end
I never wanted to go
Down the stoney end
Mamma let me start all over
Cradle me, Mamma, cradle me again
Going down the stoney end
I never wanted to go...
Going down the stoney end
I never wanted to go...
Going down the stoney end
I never wanted to go...

11.People

People,
People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world
Where children needing other children
And yet letting our grown-up pride
Hide all the need inside
Acting more like children than children
Lovers
Are very special people
They're the luckiest people in the world
With one person,
One very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you are half now you're whole
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People, People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world.

With one person
One very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you are half now you're whole
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People, People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world.

The skies above (You gotta chase all your cares away)
Are clear again (Shout Hallelujah)
So let's sing a song (Come on get happy)
Happy times ( Happy times)
Happy nights (Happy nights)
Happy days are here again
(Forget your troubles come on get happy)
Days are here again...

11.People

People,
People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world
Where children needing other children
And yet letting our grown-up pride
Hide all the need inside
Acting more like children than children
Lovers
Are very special people
They're the luckiest people in the world
With one person,
One very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you are half now you're whole
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People, People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world.

With one person
One very special person
A feeling deep in your soul
Says you are half now you're whole
No more hunger and thirst
But first be a person who needs people
People, People who need people
Are the luckiest people in the world.
